Crafted for togetherness
Getting to know Chris Gustafson
For as long as I can remember, woodworking has been a peaceful escape, a way to slow down and connect with the simple joys of life. What started as a hobby, crafting small-scale projects in my garage, soon grew into something I wanted to share with others. From creating custom pieces for friends and family to donating my work to the church and charity, each project is built with care and gratitude.
At the heart of everything I do is my family and, of course, my loyal dog, who never strays too far from my side in the workshop. Together, we’ve built House of Chester as a family business—a labor of love that blends our passion for craftsmanship and the warmth of home.
When I’m not working with wood, you’ll find me in the garden, tending to my vegetable plants, or in the kitchen, baking up something delicious to share. The kitchen has always been more than just a space to cook; it’s where we gather, laugh, and make memories. It’s this spirit of togetherness that inspires every piece I create, from cheese slicers to cutting boards, each crafted with the belief that the kitchen is the heart of the home.
Thank you for letting our family be a part of your home. We hope our handcrafted tools help make your gatherings a little more special.
